Working Conditions in England

Permits

EU citizens are treated as equal. Other citizens need a working permit.

Working Hours

Social Benefits

Employer’s part is 12.8%
Holiday pay is + 8.33 %

Allowances

Per diem for working away from home : £ 20

Per diem for working away from home on non-shooting day : £ 40

Mileage Allowance: £.040 for cars, £.018 for motorcycles

Working hours

10 including 1 hour for lunch.

Work starts between 7am to 10am; even if day starts later than 10am it is deemed to have started at 10am.

Continuous working day (which must be called as such) 8 hrs between 7am & 7pm.

Nightwork = basic fee + 50% daily fee

Overtime:
1/3 of daily rate per hour or part thereof
Work on Sixth day = additional daily fee
Work on Seventh day and declared holiday = basic fee + 50% daily fee.

Actors' Rates (Minimum)

Daily: £380
Weekly: £1520

Holiday pay: plus £8.33 per day

Background Artist: Day rate £67.00, Night rate £100.50
