Working Conditions in Lithuania
Permits:
- Lithuania is a member of European Union. No special working permits required.
Working Hours:
- 6 days week
- 12 hours shooting day, including 1 hour lunch break. Lunch break is not later than 6 hours after the crew call.
- minimal turnaround time is 10 hours
- if shooting is taking place outside of the residential area, 1 hour of the travel time per day is free of charge, everything on top accounts as a work time
- Sunday is officially a day off, but if needed, it is possible to work on Sunday and give another day off. The 7th day is charged with double rate.
- no extra charge for the night shoots
Overtime:
- overtime rate is x1,5 of the hourly rate. Hourly rate is daily rate devided from 11. There is a “bottom line”, a minimal overtime rate of 10 Euros per hour.
- overtime rate after 15 hours might be charged x2 of the hourly rate
Rates:
- there are no unions in Lithuania. Film crew rates are not regulated by the government and are the subject of negotiation.
- Sample rates for cast, extras, crew and transportation, actual for 2011.
- Lithuanian currency is Litas (LTL) and it is fixed to Euro at 3,4528 Litas for 1 Euro exchange rate.
- social security taxes and other fringes are included into the rates
Allowances:
- when shooting is outside of residential area, production has to provide transportation or cover the appropriate fuel cost
- when shooting is on the distant location and the crew is accommodated, full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) should be provided or per diems of 10 Euros has to be paid for the working day
Catering:
- normally, the catering is including the breakfast, snacks between breakfast and lunch, lunch and snacks between lunch and wrap. Tea, coffee, drinks all day long. Good quality food and service included would cost 15 Euros per head
- catering for extras is separate from crew & cast
